Why Having a Like Page on Facebook so Important?

A lot of people are wondering if they should build a Like page (fanpage) for their facebook account. I think that most people do understand how valuable a Like page can be for their business but I also feel that people get intimidating with the task of putting it together.

Here are a few reasons why you should build your Like page (if you have the technical skills to do so) or have it done for you if you feel the task is going to take too much of your valuable time.

1) It engages new visitors

2) Turns first time visitors into people who “Like” what you have to offer. (And most likely will come back to see what else you have to offer.

3) Allows them to know you and your Brand

4) Generates leads for you and/or even sales.

5) Allows you to share a specific message on their first visit.

If you don’t have a landing (welcome) page set up, the first thing your visitors will see when they visit your Like page will be your wall. The problem with this is that you don’t have much control to what the posts and comments on your wall will display when that first time visitor will stop by.

Unless you try to manage what shows on your Like page wall throughout the day ( who has time to do that) you will have a much better opportunity to individualize a welcome page so your visitors “Get” what you are all about and don’t have to enter a guessing game…LOL

Remember that Social media marketing is about building relationships with people you meet rather than “accumulate” thousands of people in your network who will never return because they didn’t get a good lasting first impression.

You can create a lasting first impression with a welcome page that will differentiate you from the crowd. By giving your visitors an “ethical bribe” or should we say a FREE gift, they will most likely opt in and become a lead for you. When a visitor likes the page, they receive two immediate benefits and that’s a great first impression!

This is a great way to build a responsive list because you will continue to send valuable content and other offers them.

Eventually, when they get to know like and trust you, they could very well say; “Hey I really think Judy is a great girl! And she is so knowledgeable and so helpful! I think I’d like to work with her!”

The Welcome (landing) page of your Like Page becomes “The essential front door of your brand and Facebook presence. You don’t have to have it perfect at first, Just get it started…

  1. Great advice. I’m in the process of redoing my FB page – but this time I’m going to be promoting a new book so I’m having fun learning a whole bunch of new things and creating a new design. I think it’s definitely worth the investment to have that extra bit of branding. Thanks!

  2. Great Markita! Let me know when you are done so I can go Like it right away!

  4. If you are on Internet, you have a business and not having your Facebook Fan Page then your in Ancient Age..LOL Fan page not only attract more visitors to your blog but there are those visitors only who are in direct touch with your Blog.

All big companies are having good Fan Pages and Attracting more customers than ever.

    • Hi Jeffrey, It’s true that all big companies do have great fanpages… I think that where it gets important to talk about the importance of building one, it’s to the small business owner of network marketer who are just learning to establish an online presence. It’s not always obvious at first how to put one in place and what to have on it …

  5. I have a fan page, but haven’t done a lot with it yet. No special welcome page yet, even though I do have a free ebook to offer. It’s a matter of time… too much to do and too little time right now, but in time I will do it. Thank you for the tips!

Hi Nathalie, You’ve given a good positive argument for needing a Like/fan page. I totally identify with feeling some intimidation about setting it up like it should be. I know mine needs some work and it is on my long list of things to do! lol
Yours looks great by the way.
    Thanks for the great post,
    Have a fabulous day,
    Lynn

  9. Hi Nathalie:

    • Hi Dereck, I can’t wait to finish the conception of our new like page… It was suppose to be ready 2 weeks ago but then Connecticut got a historical power outage as Hugh and I were working on it…LOL… what a timing for history to happen! ;)

  11. Hi Nathalie,

Great advice about how important it is to have a Facebook page to promote your business and build brand awareness. I just changed my welcome page this week as a page is a developing project to keep it fresh and of value to your clients.
