Anyone Can Write an eBook

Anyone Can Write an eBook You may think that you have to be a professional writer in order to write an eBook, but this isn’t true in today’s marketplace. An eBook doesn’t have to be written by a professional writer – just someone with enough information about a topic to make it valuable to consumers.

Why is this true when the offline publishing world demands a laundry list of credentials to one’s name? The simple fact of the matter is that eBooks are written for online consumers – a totally different beast from your Barnes and Noble crowd.

These people want you to talk to them in a casual, conversational tone. They don’t want to hear something that reads like a textbook from their school days. They also want it fast – and they scour the ‘net to find reputable sources they feel comfortable investing in.

When it comes to eBooks, as I learned in Build Your e-book Empire, you don’t have to have a lot of expertise in a specific field in order to write about it. If you’re willing to take the time to research the topic, then the sky really is the limit when it comes to deciding what you want your niche to learn from you.

Of course, today it’s easier than ever before to do research. All you need are some Internet smarts. If you know your way around the ‘net, then you should know how to use Search Engines and article directories to find information for your eBook that you can digest and rewrite in your own slant and voice.

You’ll have to be careful that you don’t infringe upon any of the copyrighted material. Everything that you write will have to come from you. You can’t copy something that someone else has written into your eBook and then sell it. This will more than likely cause you to become involved in a nasty lawsuit, which is something you don’t need.

Creating an eBook to sell online can be a lucrative endeavor for your Internet business. You can make some serious money as an information publisher. This is especially true if you take this job on yourself instead of hiring a ghostwriter to do the work for you. It’s even truer if you choose a topic that you enjoy so you can get down to the business of researching and writing your eBook.

The next time you have a great idea that you would like to write an eBook about, go ahead and give it a shot. You’ll discover that this eBook is something that your website’s visitors will purchase. This is because you know what they’re looking for and you can create your very own product with their needs and desires in mind.

Plus, after you’ve finished your eBook and have it ready to sell, you’ll feel a great deal of accomplishment and pride. Affiliates will flock to represent your information product, too, if it’s chock full of value and lessens the refund rates. Pick up a copy of  Build Your e-book Empire today and start your own eBook empire!

To Your Brilliant Success,

~ Nathalie

Great article as always Nathalie. The problem with writing an ebook is that once it is ready, there is always something we’re not happy with and then we start rewriting a paragraph or two which in turns breaks the overall balance of the book and we are then back to square one.

By we, I mean I of course. I wrote an ebook 4 months ago and have been correcting it ever since!

LOL..Wow you are such a perfectionist Stevie! I know for some people that can definitely be the case…we are often too critical of our work. I’m sure it’s been perfect since as soon as it was done ;)

Thanks for sharing Nathalie! I’ve been in talks with my aunt about writing a book – relates to me personally – but I feel like others would appreciate it just as much. And the first thing she mentioned was publishing it as an ebook. I know I still have a lot to look into if I ever decide to do it – but this was a nice little intro to what ebooks seem to have offer. Thank you!

    • Hi Sarah,
I know a lot of people get there first introduction to writing a book with starting with an e-book. I think it’s a great idea to get some experience and also feel your niche market readers.

I wrote an e-book a year ago but I took it down from my free offer as for now I offer a free video course. I need to review my e-book and lighten it a little. There is enough materiel for 3 e-books in there…LOL Maybe that’s what I’ll do ;)

  4. HI Nathalie, I really liked this info on writing an ebook. I just finished writing a regular cookbook and it took over a year to do it and was very time consuming. I think I will do a few ebooks that can help provide great info in a much easier to create format. Thanks for the great tips!

love the video! Great stuff. I wrote an ebook last year in seven days and it really changed my life. I had wanted to write a book forever and once I had my ebook finished, I now know there are many, many books to be written. I had conquered the fear of being able to write a book!

    • Hi Clare,

Where can we find your e-book? I love your blog and your passion for health! You are right about many e-books just waiting to be written ;) Your plans for 2012 sound fabulous! I can wait to fallow you in your journey!

  7. Ebooks are a great way to share your ideas and gain credibility as an authority.

Ebooks are as difficult to product as tradition books but I would still approach it very serious. Most will throw a few blog posts together and call it an ebook, you should aim to provide highly contagious and valuable content so you standout from the crowd.

    Hi Nathalie and Hugh,
thanks for this reminder on book writing, I really like writing and I have found a way to have this creative exercise fun using pictures and a mind map, waht I still find challenging is the formatting which takes time sometimes, I’d love to be able to write my 3d one in 1 week instead of 5 weeks, is there a tip for that?
